A refined, stately, or confident chin creates a sense of balance in the face. When the chin is weak or sits back on our face it tends to make the nose look larger, and when prominent, the nose looks smaller. The chin and nose are on opposite sides of a seesaw. An implant brings the chin forward, creating the proper balance and definition to the face. When the chin sits in the appropriate spot, the face is more balanced and natural.

Dr. Ronan addressed this patient’s short chin, lip strain and lack of a defined jawline with slight liposuction of the neck and a chin augmentation to near-normal. He did not pull the chin fully to ‘normal’ in order to maintain the structure and character of her face.
